Engagement Search is an innovative dedicated search agreement that eliminates most of the risks associated with retained searches and more focused than a contingency. This popular option assures you the same highly focused, dedicated, and committed resources you should expect from a Retained Search but without the risk and high up front cost. Our years of recruiting experience has taught us that clients that do not pay an engagement fee, are not as proactive, responsive, or serious about filling their positions. When an engagement fee is paid to conduct a search, the search takes on a much higher level of seriousness for both parties.

Retained Search is generally best for senior-level management positions of $125,000+ where there are fewer qualified candidates and the challenge is recruiting the talent from a competitor. The chance of two or three recruiters "discovering" the same candidate increases substantially, which quickly puts the candidate on notice that the hiring company is taking a shotgun approach to recruiting for the position. Candidates are quite flattered to talk to a recruiter performing a retained search knowing that the company is targeting them individually.

Retained searches are performed on a fee basis that ranges from 30%- 33 1/3% of the candidates first year base salary or total compensation. We require a non-refundable retainer equal to 1/3 of the estimated fee to begin a retained the search, then one third thirty days after the search commences, and the balance will only be billed upon acceptance of an offer by the candidate.
